KEEP THE CREATIVE FIRE BURNING!
Immersed in the “creative spark and magic” is where Arlene’s creativity soars. From production for an event, a concert, or album, sparks fly for her. Brainstorming is where inspiration ignites.
PRODUCTION- By far, Arlene’s favorite place is the STUDIO, where the magic is on fire like spontaneous combustion! Spending years in the studio in her A&R days and with Kenny Loggins. Gathering musicians and singers and working with a great singer like Kenny was beyond amazing and such fertile ground for creativity. Her favorite album being “Leap of Faith” where she put a children’s choir together with a gifted friend and Choir director Nyna Shannon Anderson. They called them “The Colors of Love.” A true labor of love. With Kenny, things go from zero to one hundred in seconds, and they are off and running with lots of creative ideas…it’s the best!!
She has worked on many album projects through the years in production. A few of them are Randy Jackson (with Jessica Simpson and Brittany Spears), Linda Ronstadt & Aaron Neville, Diana Ross, Neil Diamond, Manhattan Transfer and so many more. It was amazing working with such great Producers as Joe Wissert, David Kershenbaum, Richard Perry, Peter Asher, Phil Ramone, Joe Chiccarelli… The list goes on & on! The collaboration of great musicians in the studio and fantastic songs is always such a rush.
Once the great songs are written, the studio and the amazing musicians bring that song to life and there is nothing more exciting and gratifying than to watch the song being born in the studio!
For Arlene, it’s not just co-writing songs, or brainstorming ideas for a concert, it can be collaborating with your resources to bring together a great idea that may have had to stand alone. To her, it’s a joy and an honor to live a life in constant collaboration with all kinds of creative souls and projects. Honoring and respecting everyone’s ideas and encouraging them to “speak up, don’t be shy” is what makes her tick. She always says: “I am the channel for the cosmic inspiration to come through me”.
Keep the Creative Flame Burning!
DEMO SINGERS- UNSUNG HEROES- SPECIAL TRIBUTE goes to the “demo singer.” They are sometimes the unsung heroes, but without their incredible interpretation of the song, we have nothing. One of the all-time great Artist/singers she had, and continues to have, the pleasure to work with is recording artist Tata Vega. She sang on many of her Demos (as a recording Artist) that often ended up in the TV show or Film with Tata singing that song…She is an incredible singer/artist and deeply revered in the Gospel world, not to mention, soooo funny, you never stop laughing with Tata. Arlene was so pleased to see that a brilliant documentary (Twenty Feet From Stardom) was made honoring all these amazing singers and Tata was right there with them all.
On a more cosmic note, in her world, her life is always about her personal connection with a higher power, universal cosmic energy, whatever you want to call it. She always feels that all ideas, inspiration, songwriting, screenwriting, whatever the creative flame is, comes “through us”. Every Artists, musician, producer writer and collaborator she has ever worked with always says, “I am the channel for the cosmic inspiration to come through me”. Keeping those channels open is the great balance in life.
